May 30th, 2017 by

Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) team is excited to announce the most powerful, agile, and extreme performance Jaguar: the new XE SV Project 8.

A prototype of the 600PS XE SV Project 8, covered in exclusive SVO Design camouflage, is currently undergoing a grueling debut test of the Nurburgring Nordschleife. This highly anticipated vehicle will feature Jaguar Land Rover’s five-liter supercharged V8.

The new XE SV Project 8 will be the second Collectors’ Edition vehicle from Jaguar Land Rover SVO.

The first collectors’ edition put out by Jaguar Land Rover SVO was the Jaguar F-TYPE Project 7 that was released in 2014. A stunning modern motoring icon, there are only 250 of them worldwide. The Jaguar F-TYPE Project 7 reaches 60mph in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 186mph.

No more than 300 XE SV Project 8 vehicles will be created. Each vehicle will be hand-assembled at Jaguar Land Rover SVO’s Technical Center in Coventry.

“The time is right for SVO to produce the most extreme performance road car int he history of Jaguar,” John Edwards, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations, said. “The SVO team is possessed by the spirit of performance and committed to creating the most thrilling driving experience imaginable. Our clients worldwide were thrilled by the F-TYPE Project 7. The new XE SV Project 8 takes aerodynamics and performance engineering to another level – it is conceived for enthusiasts and the most discerning collectors. The price for such an extreme performance sports car available in strictly limited numbers reflect that.”

The specifications for the new Jaguar XE SV Project 8 will be revealed on June 28. The world debut of the new Jaguar XE SV Project 8 will be at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex in the United Kingdom on June 30.
